Sonoma kinder students enjoy maker space

‘Thinking beyond protocol and solving real life problems’|

Presentation School recently added a makerspace to its kindergarten classroom. Makerspaces encourage students to design, experiment, build and invent as they engage in science, engineering and tinkering, in a hands-on, creative way.

“Students of the future must be able to think beyond protocol and solve real life problems,” said Assistant Head of School Tracy Walthard.

“Makerspaces open the doors to personalized and authentic learning and build self-starters in a fun an engaging way,” said Walthard. “It’s about taking things from questions to ideas to authentic products that you launch to the world. We are enjoying watching our youngest students embark on their STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) maker journeys.”
