Springs Community update Thursday

Supervisor Susan Gorin will discuss forming task forces on watersheds, housing rebuilding, debris cleanup, and economic recovery at the Springs Community Alliance, Jan. 18|

First District Supervisor Susan Gorin will provide the Springs Community Alliance with updates on county re-organization in response to the October firestorms at its meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, at La Luz Center.

Gorin will discuss forming task forces on watersheds, housing rebuilding, debris cleanup, and economic recovery. She will also brief the group on the Springs Specific Plan, formation of a Municipal Advisory Councils in the Springs and Glen Ellen and other issues important for El Verano, Fetters Hot Springs, Boyes Hot Springs and Agua Caliente.

The SCA Executive Committee will also be providing updates on some of its projects.

The meeting is open to the public and anyone with an interest in the Springs is welcome to attend and weigh in on issues that matter to them. Translation services are provided.

SCA’s mission is to serve as a hub of communication and information affecting the interests and well-being of all people who live in, serve, or conduct business within the “Springs” neighborhoods.

The goals of the alliance include economic development; environmental safety, beauty and preservation; traffic and roadway issues; health; community outreach and hospitality.

Regular meetings are held on the third Thursday of the month at La Luz, 17560 Greger St., Agua Caliente.
