Two different bodies of “Permit Sonoma,” officially the Sonoma County Permit and Resource Management Department (PRMD), will hold hearings on several projects under review that might be of interest to Sonoma Valley citizens.

On Wednesday, Jan. 17, the county’s Design Review Committee will discuss two such projects, including a hearing on the Use Permit and a design review of the so-called “Noodle Springs” commercial container project from KS Mattson Partnership. The address-of-record is 18020 Bonita Way, but the project will front Sonoma Highway in Boyes Hot Springs.

The developer is requesting an expedited timeline since the project will provide three new housing units, of perceived value in the post-fire economic landscape.

“The recent fires have adjusted our delivery expectations and reordered our priorities: our goal is to have the housing occupiable as soon as possible (July?), and the commercial spaces operating later in the summer,” reads the proposal statement.

Also coming before the Design Review Committee is a hearing for a new 5,776-square-foot barrel building, with two 1,520-square-foot covered patios at the Kenwood Winery on its 44.75 acre parcel.

On Thursday, Jan. 18, a remodeled tasting room strategy at Ceja Family Winery, 2475 Fremont Drive, will be evaluated before the Board of Zoning Adjustments.

Both meetings are held at the Sonoma County hearing room, 2550 Ventura Ave., Santa Rosa.
