Roche and Roche landscape architecture firm recently hosted 20 sophomore and junior students from Sonoma Valley High School’s Sustainable Agriculture Academy. The students toured the offices of R&R, heard brief presentations by each employee about different aspects of the work they do, how each chose the field, and the academic and professional steps that led them here.

The group then took a field trip to the Sweetwater Spectrum community in Sonoma to tour the campus and hear a presentation by Luke Carneal who manages the community’s 1-acre organic farm. Students toured the greenhouse where the micro-greens are produced, the workshop where CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) boxes are assembled, the chicken coop and yard, the organic crop field, and the compost operation.

Roche and Roche is located just blocks from the Plaza. In 2015, its design for Sweetwater was recognized at the chapter and national levels by the American Society of Landscape Architects.
