SVHS special education athletes compete for ‘World Champions’

Two dozen students in Sonoma Valley High School’s “self-contained” special education classroom organized and participated in an on-campus World Champions athletic competition earlier this month on the school’s track.

Linda Patterson, the high school’s child welfare and attendance specialist (as well as its SCL champion girls track coach), has been working with the students throughout the fall to teach them various events.

The morning began with a entrance parade with flags and glow sticks, the students competed in various events and the athletes received medals at an award ceremony that closed the day.
