Springs man arrested on suspicion of murder

A report released the morning of Aug. 5 from the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office indicates Springs resident Steven Rothschild has been arrested on suspicion of killing his wife Juanita Rothschild. Here are the details from the Sheriff:

'Early this morning deputies arrested Steven Rothschild, 72, on suspicion of killing his wife, Juanita Rothschild, 67, both of Boyes Hot Springs.

At approximately 11:40 p.m. on Aug. 4, 2017, Mr. Rothschild called 911 requesting a deputy to his home on the 700 block of Amherst Circle in Boyes Hot Springs. He stated he and his wife had been in a fight and she was dead. Deputies and emergency medical personnel were dispatched to the house. Deputies contacted Mr. Rothschild upon arrival and found the wife unresponsive on the living room couch. She appeared to be seriously beaten; no obvious weapons were found. Deputies and emergency medical personnel tried to revive her, but were unsuccessful. Paramedics pronounced her dead on the scene.

The cause and manner of Mrs. Rothschild's death are being investigated. Mr. Rothschild was arrested on suspicion of murder and booked into the Sonoma County jail. He is being held without bail."
