An American Canyon man turned himself in Friday at the Sonoma Police Station in connection with a robbery at the RaboBank, officials said.

Mohammad Kharufeh, 39, was booked into the Sonoma County Jail in lieu of $60,000 bail on suspicion of the Tuesday afternoon robbery at the Broadway Avenue bank branch, Sonoma County Sheriff's Sgt. Spencer Crum said.

The masked man simulated having a gun and demanded money during the 12:05 p.m. robbery, telling a clerk 'give me your money right now,' officials said. The masked man grabbed the cash and ran from the bank.

Grocery store surveillance cameras showed the suspect without the mask before the robbery, which the Sheriff's Office broadcast to the public. Officials said the man was seen getting into the driver's seat of an older model Subaru Legacy, either silver or light gray in color. The vehicle was missing the driver's side front hubcap and license plate, officials said.
