Tuesday, July 4, is Independence Day, and most government offices and agencies will be closed.

The Sonoma County offices will be closed Tuesday as well as Sonoma City offices.

The Valley of the Moon Water District offices will be closed.

Sonoma County Transit will have no service on Tuesday. The Sonoma Valley Regional Library will be closed.

Waste pickup from the Sonoma Garbage Collector, in the city, and Redwood Empire Disposal, in the county, will be pushed back a day, so Tuesday pickups will be on Wednesday, Wednesday pickups on Thursday and so on.

Banks will be closed and there will be no mail delivery.

The offices of the Index-Tribune will be closed Tuesday.
