Sonoma Valley engineering students build bridges

It was astounding how much weight the winning bridge could hold.|

The 26 juniors in Sonoma Valley High Schoo??l’s engineering, design and tech academy Principles of Engineering class competed to see ?whose balsa-wood bridge design could bear the most weight. According to teacher Drue Jacobs, the winning bridge, designed by John Rolston, Dillon Burt and Sam Volker, did not break even when loaded with 149 pounds.
