Sonoma fire open house Sunday

Will include pancake breakfast fundraiser|

Sonoma Valley Fire and Rescue will host an open house and pancake breakfast from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, at the Al Mazza Fire Station, 630 Second St. W., Sonoma.

The pancake breakfast fundraiser is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors, $4 for children 5-12 and free for children 4 and under.

The open house will feature a variety of fire safety activities including learning how to operate a fire hose and fire extinguisher; learning hands-on CPR; child ID cards with fingerprinting; fire engine rides; and face painting, balloons and jumpy houses.

The California Highway Patrol will have a demonstration on how to install a child safety seat; PG&E will have gas and electricity safety information and the fire department will simulate a vehicle extrication.

There will also be a Halloween costume contest for children 12 and under at 11 a.m.
