Nearly two dozen Bank of America employees from around the Bay Area partnered this week with volunteers from Habitat for Humanity, as Irma Castillo's home on Broadway underwent preparations for a brand new front porch. On Thursday, Sept. 29, the large group of red-shirted workers spent about four hours at the house, which only narrowly avoided demolition late last year, and is currently being thoroughly renovated. The workers, all volunteers, signed up through the company's website for a morning of digging ditches and other tasks, as part of the company's ongoing program to encourage employees to contribute service hours in their communities.
