SVHS Rush set for Aug. 5, 8

Students register, get class schedules|

Registration for Sonoma Valley High students will be held on Friday, Aug. 5, and again Monday, Aug. 8, in both Pfeiffer Gym and the Pavilion.

On Friday, Aug. 5, freshman registration will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., while senior registration is from 6 to 8 p.m.

On Monday, Aug. 8, the juniors are in the 4 to 6 p.m. slot while the sophomores are in the 6 to 8 p.m. slot.

During the process, students take school ID photos, parents and students complete paperwork, make donations, pay overdue fines, pick up school planners and class schedules.

Registration packets and sport packets for all grade levels will be available at the SVHS main office starting Monday, Aug. 1. Office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Packets will also be available after hours outside the main lobby doors.

Parents are encouraged to attend Back-to-School Registration with their student. All students will have their school ID photo taken in the Pavilion. Parents and students will turn in their completed grade level packet forms and emergency card in Pfeiffer Gym.

Information and paperwork will also be available for students interested in participating in school athletics and cheer, SVHS Boosters Club, Grad Night, and other school activities and clubs.

Transportation and Food Services will also be present to collect forms. Save time by filling out all required paperwork before you arrive.

Students must be cleared of all book and equipment fines from last year in order to receive their current class schedule.

Donations asked for the 2016-17 school year ($100 per student – $50 for each additional sibling) are for:

• Student Engagement, Recognition and Activities (Dragon Days, Link Crew, Plus Program, award programs, homecoming, school planners, supplemental classroom supplies, incentives, field trips, etc.);

• Technology (maintenance and materials for labs and student computers, opportunity for innovative practice);

• Campus beautification (enhancement of the physical environment with plants, ground cover, benches, murals, etc.);

• Library (data base maintenance, purchase new titles).

Purchase the ASB Sticker ($65) and receive discounts to school activities and free passes to athletic events.

P.E. clothing will also be available – T-shirt and shorts are $10 each, sweatshirts, sweat pants are $15 each.

Student planners will be available – free.

Checks may be payable to SVHS. Credit cards will also be accepted. Parents are asked to bring small bills if paying with cash. After students have completed all the steps listed, they will receive their class schedule.

Sport packets are available at the SVHS main office or on the high school website, sonomavalleyhigh.org, and click on the Athletics tab.

Football tryouts begin Monday, Aug. 8. All other fall sports begin Monday, Aug. 15. All athletes must have a current physical or doctor’s clearance before they can try out for any athletic or cheer team.
