Kidney specialists open office in Sonoma

Nephrology group to see patients on Wednesdays, says hospital|

Valley residents suffering from kidney problems had some good news this week – a new group specializing in nephrology treatments has set up shop on First Street West.

According to an announcement from Sonoma Valley Hospital, the Santa Rosa-based group, Nephrology Associates, is opening an office in Sonoma and will begin seeing patients this month. Doctors Eric Cheung and Federico Calaf, of N.A., will see patients at the Prima offices located at 651 First St. West.

Founded in 1983, Nephrology Associates consists of five kidney specialists offering care to folks with kidney disease, renal transplantation, hypertension and complex electrolyte disorders.

Sonoma Valley Hospital CEO Kelly Mather said the opening furthers the hospital’s goal of making sure Sonoma Valley residents “have access to excellent health care.”

“We welcome the Santa Rosa nephrology group and appreciate their desire to provide this much needed service,” said Mather.

Nephrology Associates will see patients at the Sonoma office every other Wednesday. Contact the office at 526-2027.
