Sister cities hosts holiday party after tree lighting at Plaza|

The Sonoma Sister Cities Association will celebrate its accomplishments of 2015 at its annual holiday party from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 4 in the Sonoma Barracks. The community is invited to attend, right after the annual tree-lighting ceremony on the Plaza.

“In 2015, we hosted a Chinese New Year celebration; we welcomed back the Chambolle-Musigny committee under our umbrella; the Sonoma Penglai committee received international recognition for its pen pal program; Councilman Gary Edwards led an official trip to China; the Sonoma-Aswan committee conducted an awareness fundraiser for the Aswan Center for Education; and the Sonoma –Tokaj Sister City committee continued its intern exchange program by hosting Daniel Kovacs during crush,” said Board president Farrel Beddome. “It was a busy year.”

A donation of $35 for non-members and $20 for current members is requested for the party. More information is available at sonomasistercitiesassociation.org.
