Finally, an Art Walk map… Newcomer Studio 35 has done what others have talked about for years – produced a new walking tour map of downtown Sonoma art galleries. The free map is available now at the Visitor's Bureau at the Plaza, and the nine participating galleries, including Studio 35 at 35 Patten Street.

Peterson Mechanical Inc. expands facility… The fourth-generation Sonoma-based plumbing, heating and air conditioning company has bought its adjacent building at 21800 Eighth Street East to house an expanded engineering department with an additional 1000 sq. ft. of office space and 4000 sq. ft. of shop space, which will allow the company to expand their existing plumbing pre-fabrication and add a five-ton steel Gantry crane. The new location will also provide an additional 8600 sq. ft. of yard space.Velvety in the hand and on the tongue… Don Sebastiani & Sons has released a new wine featuring a purple velvet label, designed to elevate their customers' sensory experience, according to the press release. 'We wanted to communicate the essence of the wine before the bottle is even open,' said Donny Sebastiani, president and CEO. The wine, Big Smooth Old Vine Zinfandel, will be sold first in California, Colorado, Massachusetts and Illinois at a suggested retail price of $17.99.

Changes afoot at the Visitor's Bureau… Sonoma Valley Visitors Bureau ED Jonny Westom has hired Jan Mandrell as the visitor experiences coordinator and David Wells as the pr and communications specialist. Mandrell brings 20 years experience with the Petaluma's Parks and Recreation Dept. David Wells managed the Sonoma office of A. Bright Idea Advertising and Public Relations for five years. He is also president of Sonoma Young Professionals and serves on the board of the Chamber of Commerce. The Visitor's Bureau has close to 50 regular volunteers and a staff of 10. The Bureau operates two visitor centers (Plaza and Cornerstone), which are open year-round, seven days a week.
