Birthday party, extra syrup

Diners enjoy free pancakes and sausage served up by students of the Culinary Institute of America in the Plaza Saturday morning, courtesy of Williams-Sonoma in honor of company founder Chuck Williams’s 100th birthday. The store had the same event a year ago to celebrate the Sonoma store’s opening; that event drew hundreds of people. This year there were no lines, but just as many flapjack-induced smiles.
