More Valley firefighters have been sent to the continuing rash of wildfires around the state.

Early Monday, Sonoma Valley Fire and Rescue Capt. Sean Lacy led a Sonoma County strike team to the Rough Fire in Fresno County. Engines in the strike team include Glen Ellen, Forestville, Monte Rio, Rincon Valley and Cloverdale.

The Glen Ellen firefighters on the team with engine 3271 include Capt. Jim Kracke. driver Japen Soto and firefighters Hugo Chavez and Lisa Hardy.

The Rough Fire, which is in the Sierra National Forest, has grown to 81,549 acres and is currently the largest active wildfire in the state. According to the U.S Forest Service, as of Thursday afternoon, it was 25 percent contained. The blaze was apparently started by lightning on July 31.

As of Thursday, more than 1,900 firefighters were involved in fighting the fire.
