Social media for business workshop set

Workshop meets for two sessions|

Social media can play an important role in small business marketing, but it can be difficult to know how to effectively incorporate these tools.

Business owners and managers seeking to understand the variety of social media tools and develop a strategy can find help in “Social Media Marketing Toolkit” workshops offered by the Napa Sonoma Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and hosted by the Sonoma Valley Economic Vitality Partnership.

The two-session workshop will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, and Wednesday, July 29, at the Sonoma Fire Station training room, 630 Second St. W.

Workshop instructor Kerry Rego is a social media trainer and technology consultant for businesses, government and nonprofits. In addition to leading workshops for the SBDC, Rego teaches classes for Sonoma State University Extended Education and SRJC Community Education, and is the author of “The Social Media Starter Kit” and “What You Don’t Know About Social Media CAN Hurt You: Take Control of Your Online Reputation.”

Participants are asked to bring their laptop or tablet. Space is limited and advance registration required. Cost is $30 per session.

Workshop details and registration links are at napasonomasbdc.org or sonomachamber.com. The Sonoma Valley Economic Vitality Partnership is a collaboration of the City of Sonoma and the Sonoma Valley Chamber of Commerce to support the local economy.
