The 23rd National Association of Letter Carriers’ Food Drive will be held Saturday, May 9.

Valley residents can donate by putting a bag of non-perishable goods such as canned meats, fish, soup, juice, vegetables, pasta, cereal, peanut butter and rice by their mailbox before their mail carrier arrives.

Organizers ask that donors not include anything in glass jars or foods that have expired.

In Sonoma Valley, two local organizations – FISH and St. Vincent de Paul at St. Leo’s Church – provide volunteers to help receive, weigh, and divide the food for their local pantries.

The food collected in the Valley stays in the Valley, feeding friends and neighbors who need help.
