Molly Maureen Cahill Singleton lost her courageous 30-month battle with breast cancer on April 20, 2015, two weeks before her 49th birthday. She died at home in Sonoma, the town of her birth.

The youngest of three children, Molly is survived by her parents, Ercelia (Tudy) and Jim Cahill, and brothers, Michael and Kevin. She also leaves behind her devoted and loving husband, Scott Singleton, whom she married in 2004. Molly will be dearly missed by her in-laws, Sheila Mackintosh Sims and Rusty Sims, sisters-in-law Karen Cahill and Heather Mackintosh Sims, and brothers-in-law Chip Lenno and Colin Gilbert. She will also be missed by her loyal companions, Ranger and Robin, two rescue dogs who brought her much love and comfort.

Molly graduated from St. Francis Solano School, Justin-Siena High School, and Chico State University with a degree in Recreation Administration. She was employed by the City of Novato Parks and Recreation Department.

Molly finished her life the way she lived it. The weekend before her death hundreds of her family and closest friends stopped by Molly and Scott’s home to laugh, cry, enjoy good food and wine, and to say one last goodbye. Molly was confined to the couch but she was happy to hear the joy and love that surrounded her.

A celebration of Molly’s life will be held at the Sonoma Valley Veterans Memorial Building in Sonoma on Sunday, May 3, from 2 to 6 p.m. The third of May is Molly’s birthday, a day years ago her father-in-law renamed “Molliday.” A memorial Mass will be on Monday, May 4, at 11: a.m. at St. Francis Solano Church in Sonoma.

In lieu of flowers, and in keeping with Molly’s wishes, memorial donations should be made to either Redwood Coast Cattle Dog Rescue or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
