Forty-two volunteers turned out at four different sites around the Valley Saturday to clean up creeks as part of Earth Day celebrations hosted by the Sonoma Ecology Center. The volunteers collected 18 bags of trash and 11 bags of recycling. Among some of the more unusual finds was a 6-foot-by-4-foot piece of particle board and a globe-like structure that the volunteers termed “the trash trophy” for the day. Above, volunteers empty barrels into bags at Maxwell Farms Regional Park.
