Fashions from trash

Grand prize in the Sonoma Community Center’s annual Trashion Fashion Show Saturday went to Alexa Wood and Joni Derickson for their creation, “Gone to the Dogs”; second place to Judith Nielsen for “Tea Bag Teaser”; while third place went to Susan Poer for “Glorious Bubbles.” Other awards included, Best in use of Paper to Anastasia Chiurco for “Steel Geisha”; Best in use of Plastic to Becky Badolato for “Dolce Bovino”; and Best in use of plants to Jeanine Briggs for “Tribal Echoes.” Elfreide Whitcher got an honorary award for her ’Top Dog and Cat’s Meow” utilizing felted dog and cat hair. And Kate Gilberd, Kaylin Rieblie, Tessla Carlssen and Bella Roth won individually for best in Junior category with special commendations going to Vivian Cormany and Sandra Hagstrom.
