A Sonoma man was arrested two days in a row on alcohol-fueled charges. At around 3 p.m. on Monday, April 13, a deputy was sent to Chico Drive for a report of a drunken driver driving a 1980s Toyota pickup truck. The deputy found the vehicle parked on West MacArthur Street. When he approached the vehicle, the 52-year-old man sitting in the driver’s seat was mumbling and emitted a strong odor of alcohol.

The man also had a large wet spot on the front of his pants and the deputy asked if he had wet himself and the man said not only had he wet himself, but he had soiled himself too.

The deputy found the keys to the truck in the man’s pants and discovered he was on felony probation in Napa County for both drugs and alcohol. The terms of his probation included that the man not consume alcohol, but since he blew a .29 on the breath test he was taken to county jail on a probation violation.

The next day, at about 6 p.m., a deputy was patrolling the mobile home park and saw the man sitting in his pickup truck reading the newspaper, but he again reeked of alcohol.

The sot told the deputy that he had been released from jail about four hours earlier, took the bus back to the Valley, stopped at Vineyard Market and picked up a couple small bottles of vodka and a maltliquor tall-boy (a 22-ouncer). The deputy found the half-full malt liquor can, and while searching the truck, came across another bottle of vodka in a tool box. The man was surprised at the find and told the deputy that if he knew it was there, he’d have drank it too.

This time, Bradley Shiery blew a .14 on the breath test and he was again arrested on a felony probation violation and again taken to jail.
