Familiar names in new roles

Langois, Serafini assume roles in ad department|

Two new faces have appeared in the offices of the Sonoma Index Tribune, but both of them are already familiar to Sonoma’s business community. Mary Serafini and Linda Langois are now serving on our ad sales team, ready to help businesses get their message across to our readers.

Serafini recently stepped away from her family-owned music store, Sonoma Valley Music, which she co-owned with her husband Gerard for almost 10 years. She’s bringing her considerable experience in film media production and project management to bear on her role as Ad Coordinator for both the Index-Tribune and the Petaluma Argus-Courier. (Her brother-in-law is I-T Sports Editor Steve Serafini.)

“I’m delighted to remain part of the local business community in a way that brings my own personal interests and career experience to bear on the challenge of communicating with customers,” she said. “I’ve been a business owner and I know how important it is to have an advocate at all points in the advertising process.”

Langois may be even more familiar to local business people, as for nine years she was an advertising sales representative for the Index-Tribune. In 2012 the Press Democrat asked her to transfer to the Santa Rosa paper, and since she and her husband and sons lived near the JC she welcomed the chance to “work local.”

But her Sonoma connections were hard to walk away from, and with her new role as Marketing Consultant at the Index Tribune she’s ready to renew those relationships and forge new ones with the businesses that have recently come to town.

“I’m happy to be back in town to see the people I know and meet new ones,” said Langois. “If anything Sonoma is even more vital and exciting than it was when I left less than three years ago – things move fast in this small town!”
