The Sonoma Valley Historical Society needs volunteer docents for the Depot Park Museum.

More than one of the dedicated museum docents has reached or gone beyond 25 years of volunteering. After a couple of years others have gone on to other careers.

A docent commitment can be as little as three hours a month.

The Depot Park Museum is open three days a week, from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday through Sunday. Museum officials would like to share the museum with the public more often, but do not have enough volunteers at this time.

The museum needs two people inside the museum to welcome visitors, encourage children and adults to answer questions about the exhibits and Sonoma Valley. There is also a small gift shop inside the museum. The museum needs people who like to visit with others from around the world.

The museum is looking for people who are able to volunteer once a month for three hours. Volunteers will be trained and given a docent handbook to take home and study.

Contact either Ellen Reid at 779-9168, or Museum Director Sandi Hansen, at 938-1762.

The museum is located at 270 First St. W., Sonoma.
