It was a mixed bag for Sonoma Valley High Saturday night as the Lady Dragon spikers topped Analy to advance in North Coast Section play, while the Dragon gridders lost at Acalanes to end their season.

The third-seeded Lady Dragon spikers dispatched Analy in three sets, 25-17, 25-20 and 25-23. This was the fourth time this year the Lady Dragons beat Analy – and the Tigers failed to win a single set in any of the four games.

With the win, the Lady Dragons – 30-6 – will face second-seeded Bishop O’Dowd, Wednesday evening in the NCS semi-finals at the Bishop O’Dowd gym in Oakland.

The Dragon gridders didn’t fare as well in their opening round game at Acalanes. The Dons scored two quick touchdowns in the first four minutes and never looked back.

The Dragons trailed 35-10 at the half, and the Dons put two more touchdowns on the board in the third quarter to make it 49-10. The final was 49-10 as the Dragons end their season with a 7-4 record.
