Sonoma City Mayor Ken Brown stopped by Prestwood Elementary School in early November to kick off the student council elections for the 2013-14 school year. Waiting for their turn to deliver their speeches in front of an all-school assembly were fifth-graders, from left, Elsa Winter, Jenna Walker, Mac Portello, Meg Jernigan, Ruby Eilert, Cole Jewell, and Ruby Sue Badgley. Winter and Eilert were elected as co-presidents, Jewell will be secretary, and fifth-grader Alex Winters will serve as treasurer.
