Marsh elected school board president

Helen Marsh was elected president of the Sonoma Valley Unified School District board Tuesday evening.

Marsh succeeds Dan Gustafson, who served as president this year. Nicole Abate Ducarroz was elected board vice president while Sal Chavez was elected clerk.

Boardmember Gary DeSmet was appointed to the Sonoma County Committee on School District Organization – a committee that never has met. Gustafson was named alternate to the committee.

DeSmet was named to the Curriculum Advisory Council; Chavez and Gustafson were named to DELAC (District English Learner Advisory Council); Ducarroz and DeSmet were named to the Facilities Cabinet, while Ducarroz was also named to SNAC (Sonoma Nutrition and Physical Activity Advisory Council).
