Margaret ‘Peg’ Jane McHugh

Margaret “Peg” Jane McHugh passed peacefully, on Nov, 24, 2013, after a miraculous recovery from a stroke.

Peg (Mom) was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on June 4, 1922, to Michael and Philomena Lowry, of County Carlow, Ireland.

She was the loving wife of the late John T. McHugh, for 51 years; and was the loving mother of their four sons who survive her, Kevin, Tom, Chris and Steve; two daughters-in-law; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Peg was a warm and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, friend and person. She had a good sense of humor, a sharp intelligence and wit. She loved to walk on the beach and to spend time with family and friends. She was a breast cancer survivor, remarkably resilient and will be sweetly remembered by her sons and dearly missed by all who knew her.

Peg is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; by her sister, Nancy; and by her brother, William.
