MacArthur Place earns national honor

Sonoma’s own MacArthur Place Hotel and Spa has been named one of the top hotels in the United States in the Conde Nast Traveler Annual Reader’s Choice “Best in the World Awards” for 2014.

The local 64-room inn and spa, located on East MacArthur Street at the corner of Broadway, was ranked ninth of the top 25 San Francisco and Northern California hotels, putting them in the top 10 for the first time, and the hotel’s fourth time in the top 25.

The annual award is based on a survey taken by more than 77,000 Conde Nast Traveler readers rating cities, hotels, islands, resorts, cruises and airlines they have visited in the past year. The hotel rankings are based on quality of rooms, service, food and dining, location, design, activities, facilities and value.

“With so many wonderful hotels in San Francisco and Northern California, to be selected as one of the top 10 is truly an honor,” said MacArthur Place General Manager Bill Blum. “It really is a testament to our staff and the service they provide to our guests every day.”

MacArthur Place was one of two Sonoma Valley hotels to be recognized.

The Kenwood Inn in Kenwood was ranked 13th in the best resorts category.
