Luncheon aids air-conditioning drive

Back to the old West is where the Sonoma Valley Woman’s Club is going for its western-themed luncheon at noon on Friday, Feb. 21.

Lunch is catered by the Community Cafe and the menu is vegetarian chili, tri-tip, slaw, and cornbread with desert provided by the club. Lunch is $25 a person and tickets are available at Readers’ Books or by calling Liz, 815-5636.

The Rich Little Band (of Cowboys) will provide the musical entertainment.

There will be many silent auction items from various local businesses and a Grand Prize raffle for a three-day two-night stay at Agate Cove Inn in Mendocino (a $600 value). Raffle tickets are $10 each or three for $25. To purchase raffle tickets, call Dorothy at 235-5153. Raffle prize drawn at the lunch.

The fundraiser is to help support the 98-year-old building and to raise money for the air conditioning fund.

The main source of revenue for the club is rental income and without air conditioning, the club does not get rentals during the warm summer months. Air conditioning will bring in the much-needed revenue. So put on your Western wear (or not) and join club members for a pleasant afternoon of food and music.

The club is located at 574 First St. E., in Sonoma.
