The Sonoma Home Winemakers will host guest speaker Brad Warner, founder of Leto Cellars and a 30-year veteran of producing wine for Robert Mondavi, at its Nov. 11 meeting. He will discuss the art and science of blending red wine and the importance of SO2 and yeast selection.

After his time at Mondavi, Warner became the winemaker at Sawyer Cellars in Rutherford before it was sold to Bill Foley. Today, he runs Leto Cellars, as well as three wine industry businesses: Rutherford Equipment Rental, Transition Equipment Company and Warner Bottling & Cellar Staffing. He also manages a consulting practice, Warner Winery Consulting.

“Brad’s extensive experience in winemaking and blending will be particularly helpful this time of year as we complete our 2018 harvest,” said John Randazzo, president of Sonoma Home Winemakers.

The Sonoma Home Winemakers meet at 7:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of the month at Vintage House, 264 First St. E.

The Sonoma Home Winemakers are a group of home winemakers who promote the art of making wine and share information among its members. The group meets once a month to share ideas and information, evaluate each other’s wine and host speakers from the wine community. Prospective members are welcome to attend.
