On Thursday, May 10 the Sonoma Home Winemakers will have guest speaker David Cook, president of Cook Vineyard Management, discuss viticulture and vineyard development at their regular monthly meeting.

Cook has developed 120 vineyards throughout Sonoma, Napa and Mendocino Counties and currently manages more than 450 acres of vineyards and olive orchards in Sonoma County. He also has a weekly radio show 'In the Vine Country' on KSVY 91.3 FM and runs a vineyard and fermentation supply store in Sonoma.

He is also a member of the Sonoma City Council.

John Randazzo, co-president of Sonoma Home Winemakers said, 'David's experience in vineyard development will be particularly helpful this time of year as we experience bud-break and the unpredictable spring weather of Sonoma Valley.'

The Sonoma Home Winemakers meet at 7:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of the month at Vintage House senior center, 264 First St. E. Formerly known as the Valley of the Moon Dilettante Enological Society, the Sonoma Home Winemakers are a group of home winemakers whose charter is to promote the art of making wine and share information among its members.

They meet once a month to share ideas and information, evaluate each other's wine and host speakers from the wine community. Prospective members are welcome to attend. For information, write to grapes@sonomahomewine.org
