Biondi gets his ?official unbottling at Muscardini Cellars|

For those whose ideal afternoon involves pinot and puppies, merlot and mutts, cab and canines – here’s an event for you.

Takig place July 22 from 1 to 5 p.m., Dog Days of Summer at Muscardini Cellars is an afternoon of tail wagging, wine tasting, puppy portrait, and a best-dressed pooch pageant. The event is being billed as “the official coming out party for (the tasting room’s) new winery pup, Biondi Muscardini,” according to winery officials.

Biondi, named after owner Michael Muscardini’s favorite winemaker Franco Biondi Santi, is Muscardini’s fourth golden retriever and, according to tasting room spokespeople, “there is a reason for that.”

“(Golden retrievers) are the sweetest, friendliest and happiest dogs in the world and when you meet the smiling Biondi – translation “golden” or “blonde” – you will agree with that,” according to a statement from the tasting room.

Stop by Saturday and meet Biondi, have a photograph taken of you and your pup for the “Dogs of Muscardini Cellars” display, and even bring your four-legged best friend and enter them in the best-dressed Pooch Pageant – prizes will be awarded for the best dressed.

Wine will be available, of course, and Asian-fusion cuisine will be on offer from Eatin Street Food Trolley.

Muscardini Cellars is at 9380 Sonoma Highway in Kenwood. Call 933-9305.
