Here's a taste of our newest column featuring wine news from around the Valley.

Wine on tap at EDK

El Dorado Kitchen is offering wine on tap, something new and unique to its customers. According to the bartender on duty, both the restaurant owners and the customers love wine on tap as it stays fresher, and lasts longer because of the way it's stored. The wine doesn't go south as quickly because there is little to no oxidation to the wine before it is poured.

The four wines available on tap are:

Trefethen Dry Riesling Napa Valley 2015

Dry Creek Vineyards Chenin Blanc Clarksburg 2016

Round Pound 'Kith and Kin,' Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2014

Giornata Barbera Paso Robles 2016

Wineries and breweries at the Sonoma Farmer's Market

The farmers' market on Sonoma Plaza is in full swing through September. Townspeople can savor libations from a rotating selection of wine and beer courtesy of five wineries and breweries. They are: Walt Wines, Gloria Ferrer Caves & Vineyards, Madrone Estate Winery, Carneros Brewing and Sonoma Springs.

Rosé all day at tasting rooms on the Plaza

With summer approaching, rosé has become a favorite among family and friends. With a reputation for being fun and hip, rosé continues to grow more popular by the day. Rumor has it, the surge is thanks in part to Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's Miraval Rosé, made in France.

Regardless, Sonoma locals can sample some dry or sweet tasting rosé right in their own backyard. In downtown Sonoma, more than a dozen tasting rooms offer rosé. They are Roche Winery, Rancho Maria Wines, Corner 103, Pangloss Cellars, Ledson's Zina Hyde Cunningham Lounge, Jeff Cohn Cellars, Fulcrum Wines, Victor Hill Wines, Enoteca Della Santina, Cochon, Maclaren, Galatea Effect, Passaggio, Westwood Wine, Auteur Wines and Falcor Wines.

Come and get 'em! Sonoma Market shares their five best-selling wines under $15

Carmenet 2015 Chardonnay: This wine is for the butter and cream fans who like their wine, big, rich, and opulent. Coat your palate with big apple, cream and oak. $9.99

Cline 2016 Mourvedre Rose: This wine is a richer, more fruit forward rose with some nice red fruit of cherry and some plum. It also has some acid but is not overly crisp. $11.99
