Maysonnave docents needed in Sonoma

League for Historic Preservation will provide training.|

Here’s an opportunity for those who love local history and would like to spread that love.

The Sonoma League for Historic Preservation is seeking docents for its Maysonnave House.

As docents, volunteers will chat with visitors and share stories about the Maysonnave family and the history of the home, as well as introduce visitors to the work of the League for Historic Preservation, which operates the house. The League will provide docents with a thorough orientation on the history of the house, the Maysonnave family and how to conduct fun tours.

The Maysonnave House is open to the public Fridays from 10 a.m. to noon, from April to November. Docents are asked to serve just once each month, usually in teams of two, for two hours, and schedules are flexible.

Contact Susan Staggs, Docent Coordinator, at susanstaggs61@gmail.com for more information.
