It’s well known that Agoston Haraszthy, aka the Count of Buena Vista, still makes the Sonoma Valley his stomping grounds – or at least he does when Buena Vista Winery’s George Webber dons his guise – but not everyone realizes the historic winery also enjoys the company of Edouard Manet, Mark Twain, Captain Nemo and Napoleon III.

At least that will be the case on Saturday, July 15 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Living History Faire at Buena Vista Winery, a post-Bastille Day celebration of Paris, replete with dancers, living historians and wine, music and more. And do be on the watch for Professor Phineas Flockmocker, as well. Guests are invited to dress in period attire. According to winery officials, it’s a chance to “return to Paris for the 15oth anniversary of the Paris Universal Exposition where Buena Vista wine won a medal in 1867!”

$40 general admission; $25 club members and up to three guests. Food available for purchase. 18000 Old Winery Road.
