Food: Shiso Modern Asian Kitchen sold to Petaluma company

Changes afoot in Sonoma's restaurant scene.|

Shiso Modern Asian Kitchen will close at the end of December.

The Japanese restaurant in Maxwell Village shopping center is being sold to the Kamosei Corporation of Petaluma, according to the state department of Alcoholic Beverage Control change of ownership notice posted in its front window.

Kamosei will call its new sushi restaurant Shiye Sushi, according to the application for change of ownership.

Shiso co-owners Ed Metcalfe and Manuel Azevedo did not respond to emails for comment.

Shiso staff said Metcalfe will focus on his catering business and his classes at Cornerstone.
