Food: Farmer’s Wife bringing home the bacon with new cafe

Sebastopol sandwich scene just got a lot tastier thanks to Kenwood Kendra.|

Kenwood resident Kendra Kolling opened her new cafe, the Farmer’s Wife, in the Barlow outdoor marketplace in Sebastopol on, appropriately, Monday, Oct. 8, just a year after her Kenwood home burned to the ground. Kolling considers this little café to be a small wonder, and much bigger than her 10-by-10 tent from which she has been preparing and dishing out the best sandwiches in the Bay Area at several farmers markets.

Expect her renowned open-faced sandwiches loaded with regional cheeses and vegetables from nearby farms. Check out the cookie and milk bar, sandwich melts, soups and salads. Open daily 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. 6760 McKinley St., Suite 120, Sebastopol. Thefarmerrswifesonoma.com.
