Food: A ‘delicious dish’ of family meals

Sonomans may have noticed a slightly mysterious catering operation happening on Arnold Drive next to what used to be the recently-sold golf driving range near Craig Avenue. After Rob Larman had his chicken place there, a couple of diner iterations moved in and out until, eventually, Delicious Dish Catering settled in.

For the last few years Lauren Cotner has been catering many events in San Francisco, the Peninsula and Marin County. She began her catering career in 2008 feeding families in Hillsborough, Atherton, Burlingame and San Francisco who valued healthy, organic, ethically-sourced and family-friendly meals delivered in eco-friendly packaging.

In 2011, she shifted to catering to the tech industry where she offered “energy-giving, healthy meals made with love to huge corporations such as Microsoft, Dropbox, Glassdoor, and many more,” according to her website, deliciousdishsf.com.

Starting Sept. 24, Delicious Dish will serve dinner pick-ups Monday through Thursday, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Each dinner will include “Out-the-Door Family of Four for $40” including a main dish, side dish and vegetable or salad. Normally dessert is $10. As an introductory offer, you can get a free dessert if you order by noon.

The first week’s menus kick off with a Healthy Grain Bowl of chili lime grilled chicken with quinoa salad and cabbage and kale slaw with grilled pineapple; roast turkey with green onion gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans with garlic and tomatoes; and a Paleo Comfort Food dinner of pot roast, garlic mashed cauliflower and Brussels sprouts with shallots; and spiced pork tenderloin, roasted sweet potato salad, and spinach salad with queso fresco.
