Golden Gate Salmon Association benefit dinner comes to Cornerstone

GGSA fundraiser to toast Mulas family Nov. 9|

The Golden Gate Salmon Association has rescheduled its fourth annual salmon dinner on Thursday, Nov. 9, at Cornerstone. Proceeds will be split between local fire relief projects and the association.

The Salmon Association (GGSA) will honor the several-generation dairy and wine growing Mulas family, both for their longtime role leading the Schell-Vista Fire Department and for their water stewardship activities.

According to Ray Mulas, fire chief of the Schell-Vista Fire District, “We are not strangers to water re-use and recycling as we have been using water from the Sonoma treatment facility since I was 12.”

This year the fresh salmon caught by members of GGSA will be prepared by Sonoma chefs Carlo Cavallo of B&V Whiskey Bar & Grille, Adolfo Veronese of Aventine Glen Ellen, Ed Metcalfe of Shiso Modern Asian Kitchen and Kyle Kuklewski of Ramekins.

The evening will also feature cocktails, wines, silent and open auctions, plus the chance to compare fish stories and raise funds both for fire relief and GGSA’s efforts to keep abundant salmon stocks in California. 5:30 p.m. 23570 Arnold Drive, Sonoma. $125. Tickets at 855-251-4472 or at goldengatesalmonassociation.com.
