Stayin’ alive, but not hungry – at ‘Saturday Night Fever’ screening and dinner in Sonoma

Sonoma International Film Festival brings disco favorite to Sonoma|

John Travolta at his sexy dancing best. That’s what’s in store Thursday, June 22 at the Lodge at Sonoma, thanks to Kevin McNeely and the Sonoma International Film Festival.

Even better yet will be a three-course dinner at Carneros Bistro for just $36 preceding the screening.

Executive Chef Andrew Wilson will prepare the prix fixe menu. First course choices of soup or farmers market salad or mushrooms, “both wild and tamed,” with sweet onion purée. For your second course selections of Niman Ranch spiced pork belly with a crispy-soft egg and pickled veggies, or wood grilled octopus with confit potatoes and salsa verde, or veggie flatbread with poached fennel, mushrooms, marinated onions and mozzarella. Dessert offers vanilla ice cream, sorbet of the day, or a plate of three local artisan cheeses.

Film tickets take you to snacks and beer and wine for sale. Bring a blanket or low chairs for lawn seating for the movie. Movie $15, or $5 for Film Club members. Dinner $36. Movie doors open at 8 p.m. Get movie tickets at 933-2600 and dinner reservations at 938-2042.
