It takes a Village Fair

From ballsy meatballs to Yammy veggies, Glen Ellen is ready to serve|

Glen Ellen’s 26th annual fair hits “downtown” Glen Ellen at High Noon on Sunday, Oct. 9 with possibly the world’s shortest parade. Don’t blink and miss it.

Neil Shepard, descendent of Jack London, will serve as Grand Marshal of the parade this year, which rumbles along the curvy block of Arnold Drive between Warm Springs Road and London Ranch Road. He will also bring his classic Clydesdale horses and wagon for all to enjoy. Hopefully, the Volkswagen gang will show up as well for a bit of nostalgia.

To sustain you through the excitement of 80 booths, kids’ games, face painting, Popo the Clown, pony rides and lots of wine and beer to be sold by the Glen Ellen Fire Association Auxiliary, several local food vendors will offer their specialties.

Kicking off the food booth list is local Got Balls Meatballs, Tips Tri Tip Trolley, Bloomfield Bees Honey, Yeti Restaurant’s Himalayan food, Bill Dardon’s Java Wagon, Mommy Yammy’s, Chai’s Gourmet (both good for veggie entrées), Aunt Betty’s Gourmet Corn Dog (chicken), the Kenwood Farmers’ Market, Glen Ellen Village Market’s sausage sandwiches, corn on the cob and antioxidant juices and sweet treats, Horatius coffee’s shirts, candles and soaps and Hilltop Honey Products.

All day live music will be brought to you by the Solcats, Jaydub & Dino, Dan Martin and Rubber Soul on the main stage, with Radar, The Trips, Trinity Rayne, Over the Fence, Cat Sass, 8 Hits & 2 Misses and more on the second stage. Free and all to support Glen Ellen community needs.
