Celebrating National Poetry Month in Sonoma

Barbara Swift Brauer, Maya Khosla and Camille Norton to read.|

Come celebrate National Poetry Month with a poetry reading from Sixteen Rivers Press. Poets Barbara Swift Brauer, Maya Khosla and Camille Norton all have books coming this spring and they will present their new work. The event is at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, at Readers’ Books, 130 E. Napa St.

According to Rosie Lee of Readers’ Books, Barbara Swift Brauer, author of “Rain Like a Thief,” observes the physical world that serves as descriptions of the poems themselves. Sonoma County Poet Laureate Maya Khosla will present her third collection, “All the Fires of Wind and Light,” where she invites the reader to discover and feel invigorated by the wild, both in times of peace and in times of agony. And Camille Norton will read from “A Folio From the Dark,” asking readers to contemplate the power of reading and writing in an “open-source universe” in which books as physical objects are disappearing.
