New brewpub coming to Glen Ellen?

Kathleen Hill gets the early scoop on what is planned for Jack London Village.|

The Aventine sign is gone, all is quiet as the creek bubbles along, the giant historic grist mill sits idle, while Yeti restaurant and Wine Country Chocolates seem to be holding down the Jack London Village fort in Glen Ellen.

The closure of the Sonoma Developmental Center, as well as the 2017 wildfires that burned many Glen Ellen and Kenwood homes, have all made the going difficult for some Glen Ellen restaurants.

Adolfo and Toni Veronese closed Aventine, mostly due to momentarily scary health reasons, from which they have both now recovered. Giulio Tempesta closed the Umbria Glen Ellen restaurant next to Jack London Saloon within a year of opening.

The ABC Transfer to a new owner posting in the window of the former Aventine and Grist Mill restaurant building announces the new owners will be StandingOak LLC. According to StandingOak spokespersons, the intention is to open a brewpub serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, which should bring some activity and excitement to Glen Ellen. The sale of the restaurant is currently in escrow.

The brewpub will be called The Mill at Glen Ellen and will include house-made brews and a full bar.

The Mill will be at 14301 Arnold Drive, Glen Ellen.
