Thursday, Nov. 22

The annual 5K Turkey Tot to benefit Meals on Wheels in Sonoma is scheduled to take place at 8 a.m. on Thanksgiving day at Bartholomew Park Winery. Suggested donation of $10-$25. Arrive early to register, have a cup of cocoa and a muffin.

The annual free, community Thanksgiving dinner in Sonoma starts at 3 p.m. and runs until the food runs out. Sonoma Valley Veterans Memorial Building at 126 First St. W.

Friday, Nov. 30 to Sunday, Dec. 16

The family-friendly French-American circus 'Yesterday' by Cirque de Boheme will be on stage at Cornerstone Sonoma. Acrobats, aerialists, mime, jugglers and more. There are three shows a day on the weekends at 1, 3 and 5 p.m. Visit cirquedeboheme.com for details.

Saturday, Nov. 24

Chateau Sonoma at Cornerstone is hosting a Meet the Makers Holiday Marketplace from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 24. There will be live music and holiday shopping.

Wednesday, Nov. 28

The annual G3 Holiday Marketplace and Coat Drive will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ramekins. Tickets are $15 and include a glass of wine, bites and a shopping marketplace. G3sonoma.com.

Friday, Nov. 30 to Sunday, Dec. 2

'Transcendence's Broadway Holiday Spectacular' is onstage at the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts in Santa Rosa. The all-ages show features holiday favorites, dance numbers and Broadway show tunes. The show stars Broadway performers from 'Wicked,' 'Mary Poppins' and 'Mamma Mia!' Tickets are $39-$89 at www.BroadwayHolidayShow.com.

Saturday, Dec. 1

13th Annual Lighting of the Snowmen will take place at Cornerstone Sonoma from 4 to 8 p.m. with a festival featuring music, kids crafts, wine and beer tasting, warm drinks, food, an appearance by Santa and a dramatic lighting ceremony with hundreds of snowmen arranged into a creative and stunning scene, creating a winter wonderland. Parking will be available at Cornerstone until the lots are filled and then at the Sonoma Valley Airport (shuttle service will be provided). Admission to the festival is free and there is a $10 parking donation to charity.

Cookies and Milk with Santa will take place from 10 a.m. to noon at the Sonoma Valley Woman's Club (574 First St. E.). The event is hosted by Tracy Reynes of Terra Firma Global Partners, Mangiantini Construction, Gary Umholtz of Guaranteed Rate Mortgage and photographer Peter Lyons. Kids will get to meet Santa, have their picture taken and give him their Christmas lists which they can drop off in the North Pole Express mail box. Families are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for FISH or a toy for the Sonoma Valley Holiday Program.

Larson Family Winery is having a holiday open house from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with Santa, sips and samples. Bring your camera and letters for Santa to drop in the mailbox to the North Pole. For every letter, the winery will donate $1 to the Valley of the Moon Children's Center.

Cornerstone Sonoma will host a 12-day holiday shopping celebration; each shop is offering something special during one of the first 12 days of December.

Hospice By the Bay's Lights of Remembrance will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. on the Plaza with its annual tree-lighting ceremony to remember and celebrate those who have been lights in our lives.

Thursday, Dec. 6

Sonoma Art Walk returns to downtown Sonoma from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. with a holiday theme. The opening reception is at 5 p.m. at Adastra Wines, 5 East Napa St. Pick up your Art Walk map, have a splash of wine, maybe even mark a few holiday gifts off your shopping list.

Friday, Dec. 7

From 5 to 6:30 p.m., locals and visitors alike can say hello to Santa at the annual 'Hot Chocolate with Santa' event on the Plaza. Meet behind City Hall.

Dec. 7 to 10

Holiday shopping from 40 local Sonoma artists at Sonoma Community Center's annual Studio Sale. Ceramics, fiber, prints, jewelry to tableware to knit and woven clothing to prints and notecards, all handmade here in Sonoma. The preview reception is Friday, Dec. 7 from 5 to 7 p.m.; regular hours Saturday, Dec. 8 and Sunday, Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Saturday, Dec. 8

Christmas at the Mission San Francisco de Solano will be celebrated with two shows and a variety of events from 4 to 8 p.m. Themed 'Holiday on the Northern Frontier,' the event will include traditional Christmas at the Mission (a ticketed event) as well as activities and music in the other downtown Sonoma historic buildings, open to all.

'The Snow Maiden' ballet is on stage at 1 p.m. both days at the Sebastiani Theatre. Tickets are $12-$22.

Holidays Along the Farm Trails fun includes fresh-cut Christmas trees, hands-on DIY gift workshops and fresh-from-the-source ingredients for holiday meals at various farms, wineries, breweries and cideries. Through Jan. 6

Located inside the grounds of the Napa Expo on Third Street between Soscol Avenue and Silverado Trail, the outdoor ice rink features 6,300 square feet of real ice. It is open to all ages, offering daily recreational ice skating, including free skate rental. Napa on Ice also offers parties, private ice time and special events.
