Vintage House turns 35

Vintage House senior center celebrates 35 years in style.|

Thirty-five years ago, Jerry Casson, Dan Ruggles and sculptor Marion Brackenridge and friends came up with the idea of a senior center for Sonoma, which became Vintage House.

Now offering 60 programs and a great free Senior Soup Day on Fridays, Vintage House, like many nonprofits, needs to raise funds to help our ever-growing senior population.

Their Vintage Evening fundraiser at the barn at Tyge William Cellars at Cornerstone on Saturday, Nov. 17 starts with a “champagne reception” at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6:30, a 35-year retrospective at 7:30, a live auction and fund-a-need at 8 p.m. and dessert at 8:30 p.m.

Ramekins will cater to one of its sister properties with panzanella salad of Delicata squash, pumpkin seeds, pomegranate followed by braised short ribs with Yukon potato and celery root gratin and Swiss chard, or a vegetarian or vegan entrée, and platters of desserts. $200.

Tickets at vintagehouse.org.
