A chance to go beyond the basic of ukulele in Sonoma

Free class designed to ‘kick it up a notch.’|

The Sonoma Valley Library will host the class, Ukulele: Beyond the Basics, on Wednesday, Nov. 28 at 6 p.m. For those who have some experience playing the ukulele, the class is intended to help them move to the next level.

“This class is designed to kick things up a notch,” says music teacher Scott Gifford. “It’s for those who are comfortable with the C, C7, F & G7 chords and are ready to learn more.” Slightly more complicated songs will also be taught. Gifford says, “If you can play a three-chord song without feeling stressed, come try Beyond the Basics and see how it feels.”

Ukuleles will be provided. Advance registration is required. Stop by the library, call 996-5217 or register on-line at www.sonomalibrary.org.

Participants are welcome to bring their own ukuleles.

The event is free. The library is located at 755 W. Napa St.
