“Put a little birdhouse in your soul,” They Might Be Giants sang in their early ‘90s hit. And Friday, Sept. 21 is your chance, Sonoma. It’s the final Creativity Session of Sweet Home Sonoma, the birdhouse-decorating project taking place at Art Escape from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

There are about 40 more birdhouses that are waiting to be painted and filled with the written wildfire experiences of community members. There is no cost to participate.

All birdhouses will be displayed in front of Art Escape in recognition of the anniversary of the wildfires, illustrating the community spirit of Sonoma Valley.

The public is invited to a celebration and art gallery reception on Oct. 13, at which time participants may take home a birdhouse created by someone else.
