Growing backyard cannabis in Sonoma

Tips from the Valley of the Moon Garden Club|

The Valley of the Moon Garden Club will be discussing backyard cannabis regulations and growing tips at its meeting on Thursday, August 9.

The monthly VOMGC meeting has moved to the second in August to avoid the large crowds expected in the Sonoma Plaza for the City Party on August 2.

The guest speaker is Alexa Wall, co-owner with her husband Curtis of Luma California cannabis farm. Wall is also chair of the board of the Sonoma County Cannabis Growers Alliance.

Her presentation will include legal updates on cannabis at a federal, state, and local level as well as a summary of Sonoma County’s cannabis program and ordinance. Wall will also field questions about cannabis cultivation, consumption and benefits.

The meeting will be held at the Sonoma Veterans’ Building, 126 First St. West, on Thursday, Aug. 9 and is open to all.

Members are free and guests pay $5 at the door. A meet-and-greet time starts at 6:30 p.m., the meeting at 7 p.m., and complimentary refreshments and a raffle follow.
